Laura recently joined North Homes Children and Family Services in September 2018. She received her Master’s in Education in December of 2008 from University Wisconsin-Superior. Laura previously worked for Northwood Children’s Services, during which time she worked as a counselor for a residential treatment team, as a program coordinator for day treatment, and as a therapist for both a day treatment team as well as for their outpatient program. She has extensive experience working with young children aged 2—6 years, but has also worked with children 7—18 years as well as adults. She is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and has been trained in play therapy and sand tray techniques. Laura is skilled in completing diagnostic assessments and uses therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness techniques, Mind-Body techniques, and incorporates a person-centered methodology.
