North Homes provides a number of substance use disorder services throughout our continuum of care that are focused on building healthy emotional management, communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Information

Substance Use Disorder (SUD) programming at North Homes Children & Family Services is individualized, person-centered, and is informed by a clinical, evidence-based approach. Treatment is centered in the philosophy of recovery: A process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live self-directed lives, and strive to reach their full potential. Using a bio-psycho-social- 10 spiritual model, SUD treatment is approached with the intent of treating the whole individual, not just the symptoms of addiction.

Services consist of weekly group and individualized sessions. Groups are open to the public, and includes family education for SUD clients as well. Treatment-based urine screenings allow staff to provide the best experience possible to clients.

North Homes Children and Family Services is licensed to provide outpatient SUD treatment in Grand Rapids, Bemidji, and at the Northwest Minnesota Juvenile Center; and is approved to provide treatment to adolescents and persons with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.
