We're On A Mission.
Every youth and family has a different story. But sometimes their story can be threatened by a crisis. At North Homes, we are a community of compassionate professionals dedicated to serving children and giving hope to families. We help by providing caring and competent treatment, education, and advocacy services that are child-centered, family-focused and community-based.
As your friends, neighbors, and colleagues we work together to meet kids where they are at, providing counseling and direction. Stronger children create stronger stories, and we believe those who learn to own their story are empowered to live with purpose.
Safety, Stability, Structure
The ITASKIN Stabilization Center provides a safe placement setting for males and females 12-18 years old. Children under 12 years old may be accepted for short-term crisis intervention. Each child receives a health screening by a registered nurse, a case manager to assist the family with options and direction, and an action plan for stabilization and discharge.
Accepted placement reasons include:
- Alternative to psychiatric hospitalization (when medically appropriate)
- Personal/Family crisis protection
- Running away
- High risk behaviors/self harm
- Respite care
- Truancy/summer school
Programming includes:
- 24-hour mental health care
- Full-day school programming
- Life skill development
- One-on-one supportive counseling by trained mental health practitioners
- Psycho-therapy groups
- Assessment of need in coordination with family and current support providers
